"To a Wildflower" has continued to grow in meaning to me. Not only is it dedicated to my mother, but it was also written alongside my sister. Life continues for us, but I feel this song has captured our shared feelings of love and loss that will never change. As I continue to perform this live during my cruise ship contracts, I've realized how scary it is to sing something so personal, but also how it opens the door for new conversations with people in the audience.

So after seeing its effect after many months, I decided to record and release it. I truly hope this song continues to reach people - my sister's lyrics are amazingly powerful and this song would not have been what it is without her hard work. And I will forever remember that intense week we spent crafting this song together in preparation for our last farewell at my mother's Celebration of Life.

My last post for her:

"We share with heavy hearts the news of my mother's passing. Her battle against cancer proved her unwavering resilience and indomitable spirit, leaving an enduring impression on all of us. Even the medical professionals who witnessed her final journey were awe-struck by her strength.

In the final stages of her fight, our family stood united, offering her solace and love. Yet the weight of this loss has been far more difficult than I could have imagined. There are no words to express the deep sorrow of this permanent and definite change in our lives. She was one of the most inherently caring people I knew and I’ll forever hold the memories of her close to my heart.

I consider myself fortunate to have been by her side during her last days, holding her hand, kissing her forehead, playing soothing piano for her, massaging her feet, making her Peppermint tea, playing her favorite TV shows, and attending to every detail to bring her the comfort she deserves as my one and only mother. Though cancer has robbed us of her physical presence, she was an amazing example of the peace and love we will continue to offer as a family.

As we embark on the journey of healing, we are profoundly grateful for the outpouring of love, support, and condolences we have received throughout her year-long battle with cancer. My mother had an unwavering optimism, always capturing life's beauty through the lens of her camera. The number of people reaching out to us in remembrance of her has been a testament to the lasting effect she had on everyone she met.

Rest in peace, Mom. I love you. I will strive to bring happiness, care, and laughter to those around me, inspired by the way you illuminated my life."
